Our country is the land of yogis and yoga. Yoga is the need of the hour to relieve the stress created by today’s fast paced lifestyle. International Day of Yoga is observed to recognize India’s invaluable contribution to the physical well-being of the world. International Yoga day was celebrated with solemnity and serenity at our school. The special morning assembly was marked by a talk by Dr. Shilpa S. Kumar, Homeopathic physician and psychologist of our school. The entire program was presided over by Neena Ma who is Managing Trustee of Sivananda School of Yoga as well as the yoga teacher of our school. A yoga prayer and a pledge followed, in which students vowed to strive to build a healthy physique for themselves and their families, thereby building a healthy nation. Around 55 students performed yogasanas during the morning assembly, followed by around 600 students from our high school section paying tribute to the day by performing yoga in the prayer hall.
