“You eat, we donate” – the message of World Food Day was followed to its very essence on October 16th by AYUDH members of our school.
AYUDH members of Std. VIII brought an additional lunch packet to school along with their own. They took the food packets to a special school at Vavakkavu and had lunch with the students of that school. The scriptures say that the greatest charity is to give a morsel of food to the needy. Touching and heart-rending moments followed when our students got involved in feeding the mentally challenged and special children who were residents of the special school. Feeding, sharing and lunching with the inmates of Buds was an eye opener for our students about the harsh realities of life. They also learned to count their own blessings.
